Senior Driller

We are seeking a Driller for a prominent Environmental, Civil, and Geotechnical Engineering firm based in Wilmington, NC

The responsibilities for this position include:

  1. Operating and maintaining drilling equipment in compliance with safety protocols.
  2. Conducting drilling activities at various job sites.
  3. Collecting soil and rock samples.
  4. Recording and reporting daily drilling data.
  5. Collaborating with team members to ensure timely project completion.
  6. Maintaining drilling equipment in good working condition and adhering to safety protocols.

The qualifications required for the position are as follows:

  1. At least 2 years of experience in geotechnical drilling.
  2. Familiarity with operating ATV, trailer, and track-mounted drill rigs.
  3. Ability to operate drilling equipment and conduct activities with minimal supervision.
  4. Preference for candidates holding an NC Level A Drilling License.
  5. Experience in SPT drilling using hollow stem and mud rotary drilling techniques.
  6. Familiarity with rock coring techniques and core sample collection.
  7. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  8. Capability to work in various weather conditions and terrains.
  9. Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  10. Class A CDL required (air brake endorsement a plus).
  11. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and background check.
  12. OSHA 40hr HAZWOPER training desired but not necessary.
  13. Ability to obtain Military Base Access.

The right candidate may have the option for home-based mobilization, and the job locations include Wilmington, Raleigh, or Charlotte in North Carolina or Columbia, South Carolina. The position involves approximately 90% out-of-town travel, with overnight travel frequently required.
