Manager, Technical Product Support – EHR Interoperability

Fusion HCR is hiring!  Stable, 2 year contract opportunity in sunny Tallahassee, FL with a government agency for an Manager, Technical Product Support – EHR Interoperability.

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Manager, Technical Product Support to lead interoperability efforts between Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and the Florida SHOTS Immunization Information System (IIS).
This role is highly technical and client-facing, focused on EHR integrations, HL7 messaging, vendor coordination, and data quality management across healthcare organizations. The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of technical expertise, leadership, and healthcare domain knowledge.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (or technical equivalent) with 7+ years of experience in:
    • EHR systems
    • Network administration
    • Technical management
  • Experience supporting multiple healthcare customer types (clinics, hospitals, physician offices, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Florida IIS (Florida SHOTS) data upload requirements
    • EHR system implementation in healthcare environments
  • Deep knowledge of:
    • HL7 messaging standards (VXU, QBP)
    • SOAP web services and message formats
  • Experience with:
    • Vendor web service connections and testing (VXU/QBP messages)
    • Troubleshooting EHR interfaces and data exchange issues
  • Familiarity with:
    • Immunization documentation workflows in EHR systems
    • Vaccine inventory setup and management
  • Working knowledge of:
    • CDC vaccine codes and manufacturer codes (and ongoing updates)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Key Responsibilities
EHR Integration & Technical Leadership
  • Lead and manage technical interfaces between EHR systems and Florida SHOTS
  • Oversee:
    • Interface specifications
    • Data mapping
    • Testing and validation processes
  • Troubleshoot message failures and connectivity issues with EHR and third-party vendors
  • Support implementation and optimization of EHR integrations across healthcare organizations
Vendor & Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison for:
    • EHR vendors
    • Third-party transport vendors
    • Healthcare organizations
  • Conduct technical meetings to resolve:
    • HL7 message issues
    • Interface failures
    • Data transmission errors
Training & Support
  • Provide technical training and troubleshooting support to:
    • Healthcare providers
    • Medical software companies
  • Guide organizations on:
    • Proper immunization documentation within EHRs
    • Vaccine inventory setup and management
Data Quality & System Oversight
  • Perform routine audits of data quality and connectivity
  • Identify and resolve:
    • Data inconsistencies
    • Duplicate accounts
    • Interface errors
  • Maintain and monitor system connectivity across all participating sites
Team Collaboration & Reporting
  • Partner with:
    • Interoperability Team
    • Field Trainers
    • Department Immunization staff
  • Participate in:
    • Weekly operational meetings
    • Monthly stakeholder updates
  • Provide ongoing communication via:
    • Reports
    • Emails
    • Calls
Documentation & Continuous Improvement
  • Assist in updating Florida SHOTS technical specifications
  • Support system enhancements and evolving interoperability standards
  • Stay current on industry standards, CDC updates, and emerging technologies
Additional Responsibilities
  • Support consolidation requests and VFC PIN transfers as needed
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to stay current on EHR and interoperability advancements
Data Security & Compliance
  • Ensure full compliance with data security and confidentiality policies
  • Adhere to all applicable standards when handling sensitive healthcare data
