iSeries / Power Systems Administrator

The company is seeking a detail-oriented iSeries / Power Systems Administrator to support and manage the infrastructure powering key business applications. This role involves maintaining IBM iSeries and Power Systems environments, monitoring performance, and ensuring operational reliability across a dynamic and fast-paced organization.

What You’ll Do
  • Install, configure, and maintain iSeries / Power Systems hardware and software.
  • Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system performance and reliability issues.
  • Manage incoming service requests and incidents through the Help Desk Ticketing System.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to ensure secure, efficient implementations and upgrades.
  • Monitor system performance and permissions, delivering standard reports and documentation.
  • Plan and execute software and hardware upgrades, patches (PTFs), and repairs.
  • Validate system backups and disaster recovery readiness.
  • Maintain a solid test environment that mirrors production to support troubleshooting and future upgrades.


Qualifications
  • Must be at least 21 years old and authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Associate degree in MIS, Computer Science, or related technical program, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in iSeries / Power Systems administration.
  • Familiarity with tools such as IBM Client Access, Navigator, BRMS, iSecurity, HelpSystems, absMessage, or related applications.
  • Technical certification in IBM System Administration (7.1+) preferred.
  • Service-oriented with strong troubleshooting, organization, and communication skills.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.


Physical and Professional Requirements
  • Able to lift or carry up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with exposure to noise and other conditions typical of large facilities.
  • Maintain a professional, polished appearance, and positive attitude.
  • Able to move throughout property spaces and remain composed under pressure while meeting deadlines.
