Overview
We are seeking an experienced Admitting-Discharge Manager to oversee Patient Access Services (PAS), including Admitting, Discharge, Referrals, Authorizations, and Scheduling. This role is responsible for leading teams, improving processes, ensuring compliance, and driving high-quality patient access operations in a hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of Admitting, Discharge, Referrals, Authorizations, and Scheduling
- Manage and support Admitting/Discharge Supervisors and staff
- Resolve insurance, billing, and coding-related issues
- Address and resolve patient complaints professionally and efficiently
- Develop and monitor policies, procedures, and quality assurance practices
- Track and report on KPIs and operational performance metrics
- Serve as a liaison between departments to improve workflow and communication
- Lead strategic planning and process improvement initiatives
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 5+ years of Admitting/Discharge supervisory experience in a hospital or physician office setting
- Experience with scheduling, referrals, and patient access operations
- Prior experience in a salaried (FLSA-exempt) leadership role
Systems
- Proficient with EPIC and UKG Kronos Workforce
Additional Requirements
- 1+ year Emergency Department experience (Trauma, Adult, and/or Pediatrics)
- 1+ year Main Admitting experience (hospital, ASU, or outpatient departments)
- Experience managing multiple schedules and teams
- Ability to work nights and weekends as needed
