Network Engineer III

FusionHCR is seeking a skilled and motivated Network Engineer III to join our team and play a key role in supporting a complex enterprise environment. This position offers the opportunity to design, deploy, and enhance network solutions that directly impact the reliability, security, and performance of critical business systems. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to maintaining a high-performing network infrastructure.
The Engineer III – Network plays a key role in designing, deploying, and supporting enterprise network solutions that keep critical business operations running smoothly. This position is responsible for evaluating technology needs, recommending the right solutions, and ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of the systems that support enterprise applications.

This role is ideal for a network professional who enjoys solving complex problems, improving infrastructure, and taking ownership of network stability in a large, fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do
  • Manage a queue of work requests while meeting service level and KPI expectations.
 
  • Design and deploy improvements to WAN, LAN, and wireless environments, including routers, switches, and related hardware.
 
  • Review technical requirements, define project milestones, estimate effort, and help drive successful completion.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across WAN, LAN, internet connectivity, and end-user environments using internal ticketing systems.
  • Research emerging network products, services, protocols, and standards to stay current with industry best practices.
  • Help strengthen the security and integrity of the enterprise network through policies, procedures, and technology solutions.
  • Support network security audits, backup procedures, and recovery processes tied to disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
  • Create and maintain clear documentation for standards, configurations, procedures, and cabling layouts.
  • Ensure network solutions are reliable, compliant, and built for interoperability across the enterprise.


Additional Impact
  • Implement and test solutions, performance, and capacity improvements, and prepare reports for leadership.
  • Monitor system performance and help ensure network stability and availability.
  • Respond to emergency outages and support continuity efforts when issues arise.
  • Make recommendations to senior IT leadership on products, vendors, and long-term technology strategy.
  • Partner with systems, storage, database, telephony, and other technical teams to support seamless integration.
  • Follow Incident, Problem, and Change Management practices to support operational excellence.
  • Perform root cause analysis and develop corrective action plans for service disruptions.
  • Help build, document, and test disaster recovery and high-availability strategies.
  • Work closely with vendors, peers, and contractors to deliver secure and reliable upgrades and implementations.



What We’re Looking For
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Nevada Gaming Control Board registration and any other required certifications or licenses.
  • 7+ years of experience supporting enterprise networks and/or large data center environments.
  • 7+ years of hands-on design and implementation experience with Layer 2/Layer 3 routing and switching, preferably on Cisco IOS or data center platforms.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: Cisco, HP, Aruba, Brocade, CheckPoint, Palo Alto, Blue Coat, Infoblox, SolarWinds, or F5.
  • Background in a regulated environment such as MICS, PCI, or SOX.
  • Experience with ITSM processes and practices.
  • Strong ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and manage projects effectively.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and implement network configurations accordingly.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to perform well under pressure.
  • Strong customer service mindset.
  • Reliable, organized, self-directed, and detail-oriented.
  • Solid knowledge of LAN/WAN systems and the complexity of large-scale deployments.
  • Understanding of dynamic routing protocols, with at least 2 years of relevant design and implementation experience.
  • Strong fundamentals in OSI, TCP/IP, IPv4, and working knowledge of IPv6.
  • Proven knowledge of network configuration, security principles, and maintenance best practices.
  • Strong monitoring, alerting, fault isolation, testing, mapping, and diagramming skills.
  • Current certifications and continued professional development are a plus.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members from diverse backgrounds.
  • Availability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
