Qualifications:
This person will need to complete much AutoCad and/or AutoCad Civil 3D,work, so formal training/degree in AutoCad prepares them for this
Attention to detail and the ability to accomplish recurring tasks
Beneficial but Not Required (Preferred Skills)
• Knowledge of substation electric schematics and wiring diagrams
• Knowledge of basic civil engineering principles
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3DAD
Associates Degree Drafting is preferred
Responsibilities:
• Advanced level engineering support utilizing AutoCAD (possibly including: AutoCAD Electrical, and AutoCAD Civil 3D) software for utility design projects.
• Drafting, design, maintenance and preparation of electrical substation and transmission engineering projects using AutoCAD/AutoCAD Civil 3D software.
• Perform QA/QC for projects in design and as-built phases.
• Preparing physical and mechanical layouts, plan and profile, schematics, and wiring diagrams for substation projects from detailed sketches, verbal instructions, and notes under the direction of an engineer or senior engineering support personnel.
• Prepares construction drawings (CAD) and materials specifications; ensures that construction materials meet specifications.
• Identifying additional information needed for mechanical and civil designs. (Survey data)
• Creation of basic 3D models using AutoCAD programs for electric substation layouts.
• Design of steel, concrete and rebar used in electric substation applications.
