Position: Cloud Systems Engineer -Sportsbook
Location: Onsite – Las Vegas, NV

Position Overview
Fusion HCR is seeking a Systems Engineer with strong cloud and infrastructure experience, specifically in Azure, AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service), and AWS, to support high-availability systems in a fast-paced sportsbook and gaming environment.
This role is more senior and technical than a traditional Systems Administrator, requiring hands-on experience with cloud platforms, containerized environments, and scalable infrastructure. The ideal candidate has supported production systems in real-time environments and understands the reliability demands of sportsbook operations.
Experience supporting sportsbook or betting platforms is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Cloud & Kubernetes Engineering
• Design, deploy, and support infrastructure within:
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Support and maintain containerized applications and Kubernetes clusters
• Assist with scaling, performance tuning, and reliability of cloud-based systems

Systems & Infrastructure Engineering

• Implement and maintain configuration standards across:
  • Active Directory
  • DNS / DHCP
  • Group Policy

Core infrastructure services

• Support hybrid environments spanning on-prem and cloud systems
• Create and manage databases including:
  • MSSQL / SQL Hyperscale
  • Oracle
  • PostgreSQL

Operational Support

• Provide tier 2/3 support for production systems and applications
• Support lab and production environments in a 24/7, high-availability setting
• Assist with deployment of new applications and infrastructure

Monitoring, Reliability & DR

• Maintain proactive monitoring solutions to detect and resolve system issues
• Ensure backup, archiving, and disaster recovery processes are implemented and followed
• Support system performance optimization and incident response

Collaboration & Technical Leadership

• Support Principal Architects with system design and recommendations
• Act as a technical mentor to Systems Administrators
• Serve as a technical point of contact for vendors and internal teams
• Develop and maintain documentation for systems and processes

Additional Responsibilities

• Maintain configuration standards across all IT systems and applications
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Required Experience

• 5–8+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, Infrastructure, or Cloud Engineering
• Hands-on experience with:
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Experience supporting production environments with high availability requirements
• Strong troubleshooting and systems engineering skills

Technical Skills
Experience with:

• Kubernetes (AKS preferred)
• Cloud infrastructure (Azure & AWS)
• Windows systems and Active Directory
• Infrastructure services (DNS, DHCP, GPO)
• Experience with databases:
  • MSSQL (including Hyperscale)
  • Oracle
  • PostgreSQL
• Familiarity with monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery tools

Preferred

• Azure and/or AWS certifications
• Experience supporting sportsbook or gaming platforms
• Experience in containerized or microservices-based environments
• Exposure to DevOps practices and cloud automation

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  OR equivalent experience

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to pass a background check in accordance with gaming regulations
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work onsite in Las Vegas, NV
