Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls Engineer

Our client has an opening for a full-time Water and Wastewater Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to join our Environmental Engineering team in any of our five Colorado offices.
As part of the clients thriving Environmental Engineering team, you will work with mindful, experienced engineers who are devoted to sensible and conscientious problem solving for a wide range of projects across Colorado from rural to mountain town projects, to city and district treatment plants. We provide the necessary tools, support, and training to assist our employees in providing technically competent, high quality service to clients. We are seeking a highly motivated, like-minded professional with client experience and a passion for engineering excellence in the field of water and wastewater to join our team. Flexibility and desire to work on multiple projects is essential.

  • Scopes of work for electrical and I&C systems
  • Process and Instrumentation Diagrams
  • Control strategies
  • Electrical calculations and sizing
  • Electrical one-line diagrams
  • Electrical site plans, power plans, lighting plans for buildings
  • Lightning protection
  • Wiring diagrams
  • Lighting and power distribution
  • Service utility coordination
  • Panel Schedules and layout
  • UPS/Generator sizing
  • Construction cost estimates for electrical and I&C
  • Specify PLC SCADA and HMI-based systems
  • Radio telemetry SCADA systems using microwave, spread spectrum, licensed MAS, cellular or other radio technologies
  • PLCs and associated components
  • ISA data sheets and instrument sites
  • Technical memorandums and reports
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years electrical, instrumentation and control systems experience in water and wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations and associated facilities for small to medium size municipalities and special districts
  • PE License or ability to obtain within six months of employment
  • Experience in Colorado preferred, including design, cost estimates, construction documents and specification preparation
  • Knowledge of process instruments, communications networks, and P&ID diagrams
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations and codes for electrical permitting
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while effectively managing your time
