Summary Our global casino client is seeking a Senior Systems Support Engineer with a strong background in Systems Engineering, Linux Administration, and Casino industry experience. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced, high-uptime environment supporting cutting-edge gaming technology. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in Linux system administration, automation/scripting, and physical layer troubleshooting, while bringing proven experience from the casino or gaming industry. A background in electrical engineering and familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and hardware integrations are highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
Support and troubleshoot Linux-based systems in development, test, and production environments.
Lead system automation and scripting initiatives for efficiency and scalability.
Assist with containerized environments including Docker and Kubernetes.
Provide strong physical layer support, including server builds, cabling, and hardware troubleshooting.
Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance integrations between hardware and software.
Travel as needed to support on-site deployments, maintenance, and upgrades.
Required Skills
Casino or gaming industry experience (must-have).
Proven Systems Engineering background supporting complex environments.
Strong Linux system administration and troubleshooting expertise.
Demonstrated ability to automate processes with scripting languages (Bash, Python, or similar).
Hands-on experience with physical layer technologies (servers, cabling, hardware builds).
Familiarity with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to diagnose across hardware/software layers.
Excellent communication skills with technical and business stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
Electrical engineering background or equivalent hands-on hardware experience.
Knowledge of microservices architecture and large-scale integrations.
VMWare or Windows Server administration experience.
Exposure to RFID or embedded systems in casino/gaming environments.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of experience in systems engineering, IT support, or Linux administration.
Prior casino or gaming technology experience is required.
