Location: Las Vegas, NV (Onsite, M–F) Contract: 6-month Contract-to-Hire
Travel: 30% domestic and internal travel required
Summary:
We are seeking a Systems Support Engineer with strong Linux, hardware, and application deployment experience. This is a hands-on role focused on installing and supporting complex systems on bare metal infrastructure, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring reliable deployments for casino customers worldwide. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in high-impact environments, enjoys traveling, and has the physical stamina to support large-scale casino deployments. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and customers to deliver reliable installations and long-term system performance.
Responsibilities:
Lead the design, deployment, and support of software and hardware solutions, including advanced RFID integrations.
Provide hands-on installation and configuration of large scale applications on bare metal systems.
Act as a technical escalation point for system-level troubleshooting and support, resolving issues across hardware, OS, and application layers.
Analyze and optimize system performance through advanced diagnostics, root cause analysis, and remediation strategies.
Oversee implementation of upgrades, migrations, and preventive maintenance protocols on Linux-based environments.
Collaborate with engineering and product teams to improve hardware/software integrations and overall system reliability.
Support hardware setup and troubleshooting (servers, workstations, networking equipment, cabling).
Document installation procedures, support steps, and contribute to standard operating procedures and audits.
Serve as a mentor to junior engineers and assist in onboarding and training.
Ensure compliance with internal security protocols, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
Provide field support during installations and upgrades, both domestically and internationally (30%+ travel).
Contribute to strategic planning initiatives to evolve and scale the systems support function.
Maintain compliance with local employment laws, regulations, and recommended best practices.
Required Skills:
7+ years in systems engineering, IT support, or technical operations roles.
Advanced experience with Linux-based systems, network architecture, and hardware diagnostics.
Proficiency in PostgreSQL, scripting (Bash/Python), and VMWare/Windows Server environments.
Proven experience with RFID technology or similar hardware-integrated software solutions is a plus.
Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills with a customer-first mindset.
Ability to work independently on complex projects and lead initiatives across departments
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a technical field
