Summary:
We are seeking a Systems Support Engineer with strong Linux, hardware, and API integration experience. This is a hands-on role responsible for installing and supporting complex applications on bare metal infrastructure, integrating with third-party systems via REST APIs and JSON, and ensuring reliable deployments for casino customers worldwide.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in high-impact, field-based environments and is comfortable supporting real-time deployments across hardware, software, and network layers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design, deployment, and integration of software and hardware solutions, including advanced RFID and third-party API integrations.
  • Provide hands-on installation of large-scale Linux-based applications on bare metal systems.
  • Develop and support application-level integrations using REST APIs, JSON, and custom configuration protocols.
  • Act as a technical escalation point for full-stack support — from hardware to application layer.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize system performance through diagnostics and root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to improve hardware/software/API reliability.
  • Provide documentation of deployment procedures, support playbooks, and integration standards.
  • Support hardware setup including workstations, servers, cabling, and network equipment.
  • Mentor junior team members and assist in field onboarding and training.
  • Ensure deployments comply with customer requirements and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Deliver field support during installations and upgrades (30%+ travel).

Required Skills & Experience:
  • 7+ years in systems engineering, field support, or application deployment roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Linux (command line, scripting, service configuration).
  • Experience installing applications directly onto bare metal systems.
  • Experience working with RESTful APIs and JSON, especially in system-to-system integrations.
  • Comfortable debugging across Linux OS, application, and network layers.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Bash, Python), PostgreSQL, and virtualization (VMware, Windows Server).
  • Background in RFID or hardware-integrated software solutions is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, documentation habits, and team collaboration experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent hands-on experience in a technical field.
