CNC Milling Operator

Position: CNC Mill Operator 
Shift: 2nd Shift
Pay: Up to $35 HOUR 
 

The CNC Milling Operator role involves the operation of CNC mills during the second shift. The operator will be responsible for working with metals such as steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, ensuring precision to tight tolerances. Key responsibilities include reading blueprints, setting up machines, editing programs, and utilizing various inspection instruments to uphold quality standards. The operator must possess a solid mechanical aptitude, basic programming knowledge, and the ability to work independently. Additionally, cross-training on other machinery, performing basic maintenance, and owning essential tools are requirements for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate CNC mills to achieve close tolerances, machining various metals.
  • Inspect parts using precision measuring instruments.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and process sheets.
  • Edit and troubleshoot pre-written programs.
  • Set up and install tooling for machining.
  • Monitor and maintain machine fluid levels.
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance.
  • Cross-train on other plant machinery as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2 years of CNC milling experience.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in interpreting blueprints and following routing steps.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills.
  • Basic programming knowledge and experience.
  • Familiarity with precision measuring equipment.
  • Basic understanding of feeds, speeds, and gearing terminology.
