IT Project Manager

A direct client of Fusion HCR is seeking an IT Project Manager. The right candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering key technology initiatives to support business objectives. You will partner closely with leadership, facilitate cross-functional project teams and be responsible for understanding the strategic context and business needs. You will define and manage critical IT initiatives to ensure maximum value is delivered to the business on time and within budget, while providing a positive customer experience.
This is both a hands-on and a strategic role in a rapidly growing company that is passionate about its mission. Having extensive experience with ERP and large enterprise application implementations is a critical requirement for this position. This person must be comfortable speaking with senior management and working in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
Main Responsibilities:
  • This is a Mid-Senior Level role - Own, facilitate, and reinforce the PMO project intake process; lead regular intake review meetings with business stakeholders
  • Meet with business stakeholders to review emerging technology needs; partner with business owner to determine realistic time frame, objectives, resource needs and recommended approach
  • Identify potential synergies or conflicts for project requests, and work with business stakeholders to align priorities and allocate key resources
  • Work with business analysts and team members to ensure requirements are clearly identified
  • Manage regular project team check-ins to ensure goals are accomplished and in line with business objectives
  • Communicate project status, decisions, and action items to stakeholders as appropriate
  • Proactively manage risks and issues, use sound business judgment to mitigate or escalate as needed to keep the project on track
  • Establish and maintain standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation
  • Collaborate with PMO team to identify improvements in project management maturity & effectiveness 
  • 8+ years’ experience managing and successfully delivering IT projects
  • PM training and certification
  • AX 2012 R2 OR Dynamics 365 experience preferred
  • Expertise in Program and Project Management disciplines
  • Demonstrated experience with the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) processes
  • Experience setting up governance for a PMO along with effective portfolio management
  • Experience leading an IT PMO
  • Agile development methodologies knowledge
  • Experience managing external vendors and resources
  • Ability to work with a diverse set of users from upper management to field users and to be able to communicate effectively across groups
  • Vision and organizational skills to balance end-user support with larger strategic project support
  • Obvious cross-group collaboration and influence competencies throughout all work examples
  • Familiar with project management methodologies (e.g. PMI and Agile) and planning tools
  • Experience with SaaS projects and data migration
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience developing communications & presentations for different audiences
  • Ability to coach, lead, and motivate others, demonstrating empathy and knowledge of personality types
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs, with the ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence
  • Demonstrated business judgment in identifying and managing risks, developing options and presenting recommendations to management
  • Experience with change management in a dynamic environment
