The Business Analyst will report to the Business Applications Manager. This position will be responsible for front-end user support for critical business applications and will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to address break-fixes and coordinate new features to drive the business forward. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience documenting business processes, performing gap analysis, gathering and eliciting requirements, and facilitating user acceptance testing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Respond to trouble tickets for critical business applications.
- Troubleshoot software errors and work with both internal and external technical support teams to identify solutions for performance degradation.
- Maintain continuous communication with end users through problem resolution.
- Document resolution notes, knowledge articles, and/or QRCs for solving software issues or providing guidance on how the software works.
- Partner with Business Process Owners to understand needs for business problems.
- Document/model as-is and to-be business processes.
- Elicit high-level business requirements and decompose them into functional and non-functional requirements.
- Trace requirements through the delivery lifecycle from definition to release.
- Collaborate with App Dev and Application Maintenance teams to identify solution options that will help business applications better support business processes.
- Conduct research to understand capabilities within critical business applications as part of making recommendations for change or implementing unused features the business may benefit from.
- Work with cross-functional teams to manage system changes from conception through implementation and release.
- Capture backlog items for system changes and new project requests and collaborate with IT leadership to prioritize work.
- Assist with QA and User Acceptance Testing.
- Assist with product release notes for custom applications
- Ensure established development, maintenance, and IT processes are being followed
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science, finance, or information systems required (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: 3 + years of relevant work experience.
- Certifications: Certifications in business analysis are highly desired but not required.
Technical Skills:
- Experience working with SaaS products, web applications, and ERP software required. Experience working with Vista (Viewpoint) a plus.
- Demonstrated computer skills including working knowledge of MS Office products, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong experience with process modeling tools (e.g. Visio, Miro).
- Experience with Fresh Works, Jira or other similar tools.
- Knowledge of SDLC processes and various delivery models preferred.
