Job Description: Civil Engineer

Location: Charleston, SC

Position Overview: Currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Civil Engineer to join our Charleston, SC office. The chosen candidate will be responsible for a diverse array of general civil engineering tasks, playing a pivotal role in delivering high-quality engineering solutions to both private and public clients.
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct site layout and surveying to determine optimal design parameters.
• Develop innovative and efficient paving and grading designs.
• Design and oversee water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
• Implement effective stormwater management strategies.
• Ensure successful erosion and sedimentation control measures.
• Collaborate with a wide range of private and public clients to meet their engineering needs.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience in all phases of construction projects, from initial design through construction administration.
• Proficiency in tasks such as design development, permitting, plan and specification preparation, cost estimation, and bidding processes.
• Ability to adeptly negotiate change orders and approve contractor pay requests.
• Knowledge of Department of Defense practices and procedures is a plus.

Requirements:

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in making informed, independent, and professional decisions.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in civil engineering from an accredited university.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in civil engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of South Carolina.
• Capability to obtain Department of Defense security clearance, including comprehensive background checks.
