Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join a dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in accounting, specifically within the manufacturing industry. This role is responsible for managing cost accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The Accountant will play a critical role in analyzing production costs, optimizing financial processes, and supporting business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and analyze cost accounting records, including raw materials, labor, and overhead expenses.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to improve cost efficiency.
- Conduct inventory valuation, reconcile discrepancies, and ensure accurate reporting of inventory costs.
- Oversee fixed asset accounting, depreciation schedules, and capital expenditure tracking.
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and industry-specific regulations.
- Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to enhance financial controls and cost-saving initiatives.
- Assist with audits, tax filings, and other regulatory requirements.
- Support ERP system implementation and optimization for improved financial reporting.
- Analyze production variances, standard costing, and margin analysis to aid decision-making.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field.
- 5-7 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and inventory management.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
- Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to work cross-functionally.
- Knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Strong communication skills and ability to present financial insights effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA, CMA, or MBA is a plus.
- Knowledge of standard costing and process improvement strategies.
