Experience: Experience in Information Security operations, Information Technology and/or other Health Information Systems preferred. Specialized knowledge of and expertise in: Epic Security EMR systems, and/or additional clinical applications. Delivers solution sets for systems and application problems. Proficiency in all skills required to facilitate application and systems enhancements or replacements. Capability to analyze and resolve system access problems. Demonstrates understanding of user provisioning, clinical and/or business operations. Communicates effectively with users, colleagues, developers, and organizational administration. Demonstrates excellent analytical skills. Collaborates with cross-functional work teams with minimal supervision.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS Education: Associate Degree in IT or related field w/2-4 years job experience required. OR Bachelor Degree in IT or related field w/0-4 years job experience required. Related areas of study include Nursing, Medical Technology, Radiology, Mathematics, Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Laboratory, Pharmacy, or Medicine. Licensure: Not Applicable Certification: Project Management Certification is encouraged Experience: Requires knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of applications and good analytical and documentation skills Skills/Other: • Proven ability to assist with projects involving an analysis of need, coordination of work effort, evaluation, and documentation • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills • Proven organizational skills and ability to perform tasks as assigned • Proven effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with technical staff, management, customers, vendors, other employees, physicians, patients, and visitors • Proven verbal and written communication skills Position Summary: • The IT Security Programmer/Analyst provides programming and systems analysis support for a broad array of mainframe, midrange, client-server, and other automation projects as assigned. • The position supports all areas of the project life cycle including: project definition, project estimation, systems design, computer programming, systems implementation, maintenance, upgrades, and documentation. Particular emphasis is placed on the implementation of integrated hospital/corporate computer systems. • The individual will not have supervisory responsibility. • The person receives assignments and works under close supervision of his/her immediate manager or senior-level team member. • The IT Security Programmer/Analyst works as a team member in automation projects. Dimensions of project assignments range from simple stand-alone applications to large projects. • The IT Security Programmer/Analyst is responsible for the processing and implementation of approved Information Technology (IT) Service Requests, both strategic and tactical, in a satisfactory and professional manner within a reasonable time period. • The individual will respond to the software malfunctions of assigned systems, providing support and assistance to Operations and users to correct and avoid recurrence of production application problems. • The position interacts with a wide variety of hospital/corporate personnel. The primary internal interaction is with operational end users of information systems and all other individuals within IT. External involvement with vendor personnel is sometimes required and may be under the guidance of project leadership or more senior information systems personnel. • The position provides back-up assistance to other team members and shares knowledge/education with fellow team members. • This position allows for the continued development of the employee’s basic information system and business knowledge and skills.
