Human Resources Generalist

Location: Dayton, OH
Position Type: Full-Time

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to join our client's team. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong foundation in HR practices and 3+ years of relevant experience. The HR Generalist will support and enhance the organization’s human resources functions, with a focus on compliance, benefits administration, employee relations, training and development, and payroll processing.
 

Key Responsibilities:

Compliance & HR Policy

  • Ensure HR practices comply with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

  • Maintain and update employee handbook and policies in alignment with regulatory changes.

  • Support audits, reporting, and documentation to ensure regulatory compliance.

Benefits Administration

  • Administer employee benefits programs (health, dental, vision, life, 401(k), etc.).

  • Serve as a point of contact for benefits inquiries and support open enrollment processes.

  • Coordinate with vendors and resolve benefits-related issues.

Employee Relations

  • Assist in resolving employee concerns and conflicts with discretion and professionalism.

  • Support performance management and disciplinary processes.

  • Foster a positive work environment aligned with organizational values.

Training & Development

  • Coordinate and facilitate employee onboarding and orientation programs.

  • Support the development and delivery of training programs across departments.

  • Assist in tracking employee development and maintaining training records.

Payroll Support

  • Collaborate with the payroll team or vendor to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.

  • Maintain accurate employee records related to compensation and timekeeping.

  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries and troubleshoot discrepancies.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a generalist HR role or equivalent.

  • Solid understanding of HR best practices, labor laws, and employment regulations.

  • Experience with HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, Paylocity, Workday) preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality.

  • Professional HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
