Position Summary
Our client, a large casino and hotel, is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer with deep expertise in Nutanix and strong operational experience across Windows domain management, Active Directory, and Cohesity backup platforms. This role supports a mission-critical, 24/7 enterprise environment and requires an engineer who excels in stability, performance, and proactive systems maintenance.
You will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing the virtual infrastructure, performing domain and directory administration, managing system backups and recovery solutions, and supporting various production systems used across hotel, casino, and corporate operations.

This role supports a mission-critical, 24/7 enterprise environment and requires an engineer who excels in stability, performance, and proactive systems maintenance.
You will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing the virtual infrastructure, performing domain and directory administration, managing system backups and recovery solutions, and supporting various production systems used across hotel, casino, and corporate operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and optimize the Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure supporting enterprise production systems.
- Support and manage Windows Server environments, including patching, performance tuning, and incident resolution.
- Administer and maintain Active Directory, including GPOs, OU structure, user/service accounts, and domain security.
- Manage Cohesity backup and recovery operations, ensuring data integrity and reliable restore capabilities.
- Troubleshoot system issues across virtualized and physical environments.
- Assist with system upgrades, capacity planning, and architecture improvements.
- Support operational needs for casino, hotel, and back-office systems within a highly regulated, secure environment.
- Create and maintain documentation for systems, processes, and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate closely with network, security, and application teams to ensure system performance and reliability.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of Systems Engineering or Systems Administration experience.
- Strong Nutanix experience — administration, troubleshooting, cluster management, and performance tuning.
- Windows Server expertise in mid- to large-scale enterprise environments.
- Proficiency with Active Directory, including GPOs, DNS/DHCP, and domain services.
- Hands-on experience with Cohesity backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Experience supporting mission-critical 24/7 environments, ideally within hospitality, gaming, or similarly regulated industries.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work onsite daily and support occasional off-hours maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in casino, gaming, or hospitality IT environments.
- Nutanix or Windows Server certifications.
- Familiarity with VMware concepts (even if Nutanix is primary environment).
- Exposure to networking concepts, storage platforms, or security tools.
