Fusion HCR is hiring! Network Security Engineer. Contract position with potential contract to hire option, on-site in Las Vegas NV. This role is supporting a global casino and hospitality company.

Overview:
A major casino in Las Vegas is seeking a highly skilled Network Security Engineer with a strong operational focus to manage, integrate, and troubleshoot Firewall infrastructure. This role involves real-time network security operations, responding to outages, ensuring seamless service delivery, and optimizing security configurations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage day-to-day network security operations, troubleshooting outages, and ensuring high availability of security services.
  • Integrate and maintain network security tools, including firewalls, VPNs, and access control solutions.
  • Analyze and optimize network traffic flow and service interactions to enhance security posture.
  • Configure and manage Palo Alto firewalls, including policy implementation, HIP profiling, and security rule adjustments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve firewall rule conflicts and connectivity issues in complex environments.
  • Oversee domain joins and User-ID integrations to ensure accurate identity-based policies.
  • Monitor security alerts and respond to incidents with rapid troubleshooting and resolution.
  • Perform regular audits and updates of security configurations to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with IT and security teams to streamline security processes and improve response times.
  • Document security incidents, operational changes, and best practices for knowledge sharing.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Expertise in firewall administration, especially Palo Alto Networks (PAN), including rule creation, troubleshooting, and HIP profiling.
  • Strong understanding of how network traffic moves across services and security layers.
  • Experience with domain joins, User-ID management, and identity-based security policies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills in complex network environments.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in security operations tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection is a plus
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., PCNSE, CISSP, CCNP Security, CISM, CompTIA Security+) is a plus
