Production Control Specialist

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive Production Control Specialist to help ensure daily manufacturing operations remain aligned with established production schedules and priorities.

In this highly visible, hands-on role, you will spend significant time on the production floor monitoring the status of assigned machines and work centers, identifying potential schedule disruptions, documenting production gaps, and communicating issues to Operations leadership. You will partner closely with Value Stream Manager and the Plant Manager to understand barriers, coordinate appropriate follow-up, and help drive issues through resolution.

The successful candidate will be an effective communicator who is comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, enjoys solving problems, and takes ownership of following issues from identification through resolution.

What You'll Do

Become familiar with all machines in your purview for this scope of work
Monitor daily production schedules for assigned machines and work centers to ensure manufacturing activities remain aligned with established production plans and priorities.
Maintain an active presence on the production floor to monitor production status and identify issues that could affect schedule adherence.
Identify, document, and communicate deviations from the production schedule to appropriate Operations leadership.
Track production gaps by machine or work center, including issues related to equipment, staffing, materials, quality, process constraints, or other operational barriers.
Partner with the Plant Manager and Value Stream Manager to understand production gaps and support actions necessary to return operations to schedule.
Follow up on identified issues to ensure appropriate actions are progressing toward resolution.
Provide timely and accurate updates regarding production status, schedule risks, outstanding issues, and recovery efforts.
Identify recurring production barriers or trends and communicate observations to Operations leadership.
Support production prioritization and recovery efforts when operations fall behind plan.
Maintain accurate production records, reports, trackers, and other documentation necessary to support manufacturing operations.
Facilitate effective communication across production areas, shifts, and supporting functions regarding production priorities and outstanding issues.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, operations, or similarly fast-paced work environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to effectively prioritize multiple issues and follow activities through completion.
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and appropriately escalate concerns.
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Outlook.
Ability to effectively interact with employees and leaders at various levels of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate degree in Business, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field.
Two or more years of experience in manufacturing, production control, production planning, scheduling, or operations.
Experience monitoring production schedules or manufacturing performance.
Experience with ERP, MRP, MES, production scheduling, or other manufacturing systems.
Experience tracking, analyzing, or reporting production performance.

Ability to stand and/or walk for the majority of an eight-hour shift.
Ability to regularly move throughout manufacturing and production areas while performing job responsibilities.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and follow all applicable safety procedures and personal protective equipment requirements.
Ability to perform a combination of production-floor activities and computer-based documentation and reporting.

Work Environment

This is a hands-on manufacturing position that requires a significant presence on the production floor. The Production Control Specialist will regularly interact with production employees and Operations leadership and must be comfortable working in an environment where production conditions, schedules, and priorities may change throughout the shift.
