Controller (CFO Track)
Fusion HCR is Hiring!
Role: Controller (CFO Track)
Location: Louisville, Kentucky
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Employment Type: Full-time
Industry: Construction
This is an opportunity to lead the finance function of an established commercial construction contractor with ambitious growth plans. The Controller will take ownership of accounting and reporting while building the processes, systems, and team needed to support the company’s next stage. Reporting to the President, this leader will partner with ownership and work closely with project managers and field leadership. The role combines hands-on financial oversight with the opportunity to shape a scalable organization, and offers a defined path to the CFO position as the finance platform develops.
Position Overview
Fusion HCR is seeking a Controller to lead core accounting and financial reporting while building a finance and accounting function ready to support significant business growth. The successful candidate will own the monthly close, financial statements, construction accounting, job costing, and cash-flow planning. They will bring rigor and visibility to work-in-progress reporting, project profitability, billing, and financial controls.
This is a build-and-scale role, not simply a maintenance position. The Controller will assess the current team, processes, and technology; establish a roadmap for improvement; and strengthen the connection between field operations, project management, and accounting. Reporting to the President, the Controller will also contribute to decisions about pricing, backlog, growth, and capital planning, with a path to CFO as the finance organization evolves.

-
Standardize processes and controls; strengthen job-costing discipline; and build, develop, and organize the accounting team.
-
Oversee fleet accounting, capital planning, lease-versus-buy analysis, and equipment cost allocation.
