The position is permanent and onsite.
Position Overview
Fusion HCR is seeking a Staff Physician to provide professional physician services and complete required administrative duties. The physician will assess and treat adult and pediatric patients, develop care plans responsive to patients’ medical and related needs, and perform common urgent care procedures. This role also supports the quality and effectiveness of care through participation in quality assurance and performance improvement practices. Success requires sound clinical judgment, effective communication with patients from diverse backgrounds, and the ability to make decisions under stress, including in emergency circumstances. The Staff Physician will work with hospital personnel and relevant outside agencies to support patient referrals and maintain safe, appropriate care in accordance with applicable laws, standards, and hospital procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Provide professional medical care to adult and pediatric patients, applying appropriate age-specific care practices.
Assess patient needs, develop care plans, and provide services that address medical, social, and emotional considerations.
Perform common urgent care procedures and make effective clinical decisions in urgent or emergency situations.
Coordinate referrals by communicating with relevant outside agencies and sharing or obtaining appropriate patient information.
Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities to assess and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of care.
Complete required administrative duties and contribute to the development of goals, objectives, policies, and procedures as appropriate.
Follow patient rights, infection control, safety, emergency response, and hazardous-material handling requirements.
Use clinical equipment and supplies safely and effectively, and maintain productive working relationships with hospital personnel.
Required Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited school of medicine.
Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Family Medicine or Internal Medicine training program, or equivalent.
Board certification with required maintenance of certification, or board eligibility.
Valid Nevada medical license to practice medicine.
Nevada Pharmacy Board license to prescribe medications and DEA Controlled Substance Registration.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification accepted by the American Heart Association.
Comfort performing common urgent care procedures.
Some positions may require two years of clinical practice experience.
Knowledge of adult and pediatric care, medical practices, patient rights, infection control, applicable regulations, and hospital safety and emergency procedures.
Strong clinical judgment, care-planning, problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills, including the ability to work effectively under stress and with people from diverse backgrounds.
