Our client is seeking a temporary Payroll Specialist for a 6-week contract assignment. This individual will assist with payroll processing, employee records administration, and various HR support functions while helping ensure the timely and accurate completion of payroll and personnel-related activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process regular payroll cycles utilizing an automated payroll system
- Review and validate employee timekeeping records and related reports
- Ensure all time records have received appropriate approvals
- Audit payroll data for accuracy, compliance, and policy adherence
- Maintain payroll-related employee information, including deductions, tax updates, direct deposit changes, and garnishments
- Perform quality control reviews of payroll entries prior to submission
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate payroll processing
- Review and reconcile data received from third-party providers
- Support employee onboarding and offboarding activities
- Assist with payroll reconciliations and post-processing audits
- Maintain electronic employee records and documentation
- Provide administrative support to the HR and Payroll teams as needed
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior payroll processing experience
- Experience with payroll and HRIS systems
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
