Senior IT Project Manager – OPERA / Oracle Cloud Upgrade

Position Summary
Fusion HCR is seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead a national, enterprise-wide OPERA Property Management System (PMS) upgrade to Oracle Cloud. This is a high-visibility initiative supporting a core platform that feeds multiple downstream enterprise systems, including finance, revenue management, integrations, reporting, and guest-facing applications.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience managing OPERA PMS upgrades, Oracle Cloud migrations, or large-scale hospitality platform transformations, and is comfortable leading cross-functional technical and business teams in a complex, regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of an OPERA PMS upgrade / Oracle Cloud migration, from planning through post-go-live stabilization.
  • Serve as the primary Project Manager for a national Property Management System that integrates with multiple enterprise systems.
  • Coordinate across IT, infrastructure, application, integration, finance, and operations teams to ensure alignment on scope, timelines, and dependencies.
  • Manage vendor relationships and external partners supporting OPERA and Oracle Cloud implementation efforts.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, risk logs, and dependency tracking using tools such as Jira and Microsoft Project.
  • Oversee data migration, system integrations, testing phases (SIT/UAT), cutover planning, and go-live execution.
  • Ensure adherence to SDLC best practices, change management processes, and enterprise governance standards.
  • Identify risks and downstream impacts early, proactively implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Facilitate executive-level status reporting for a highly visible, leadership-sponsored initiative.
  • Drive clear communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 8+ years of IT Project Management experience, with enterprise-scale system implementations.
  • Direct experience managing OPERA PMS upgrades, Oracle Cloud migrations, or large hospitality / property management platforms.
  • Strong understanding of system integrations and downstream data dependencies.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams across IT and business units.
  • Hands-on experience with Jira, Microsoft Project, or similar PM tools.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication skills, including executive-level reporting.

Preferred Experience
  • Experience in hospitality, gaming, or large multi-property environments.
  • Prior ownership of PMS upgrades or replacements impacting finance, CRM, and operational systems.
  • Experience working with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or Oracle SaaS platforms.
  • PMP or similar project management certification.
  • Comfortable working in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery models.
