Summary of Role The Security Engineer III will research, test, implement, optimize, and maintain security tools and frameworks to address modern threats. This role includes responsibilities around cloud security, vulnerability scanning, SIEM management, incident handling, disaster recovery planning, and mentoring lower-level engineers. The role requires strong technical acumen and the ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Research, test, and implement new security technologies with effective change control (50%)
Support and improve IT Security Frameworks including cloud risk/security management (10%)
Act as a senior escalation point for incident response and forensics (10%)
Identify, investigate, and document potential security violations (10%)
Provide security input on infrastructure and application projects (10%)
Develop dashboards for incident and risk reporting (10%)
Ensure daily SLA adherence; maintain compliance with legal and company policies
Participate in on-call rotation and safety programs as required
Required Experience & Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s in related field preferred
7+ years of IT Security experience
3+ years of hands-on experience in cloud security technologies
Strong expertise in SIEM, endpoint and email security
Experience managing incident response and reporting
Advanced understanding of networking, phishing/cyberattacks, and threat mitigation
Certifications preferred: CISSP, Cloud Security (e.g., CCSK, CCSP), or equivalent

Detail-oriented with ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
Self-starter with independent judgment and collaborative team mindset
Able to lift 50 lbs (waist and shoulder height); light physical effort expected
Physical & Work Environment
Remote position with occasional in-person meetings or events
Requires close visual acuity and prolonged screen time
Some weekend or evening work may be required (on-call rotation)
