GIS Analyst

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented GIS Analyst to join our client's team. Under general supervision, the GIS Analyst will be responsible for performing accurate data entry, maintaining vector and attribute data, and supporting various GIS-related tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of GIS principles, proficiency in ArcPro, and experience working with both spatial and non-spatial data. The role will focus on managing their master address database, but additional tasks may include map creation, spatial analysis, and GIS project support depending on the candidate's experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Entry & Maintenance: Accurately enter, edit, and maintain vector and attribute data into the GIS database.
  • Master Address Database Support: Digitize data, perform quality control (QC) processes, update annotations, and maintain mapping products to support the master address initiative.
  • Mapping & Spatial Operations: Create map products, update spatial data layers, and perform various spatial operations to support internal and external projects.
  • GIS Analysis: Conduct research, perform spatial analysis, and generate specialized datasets based on customer and project needs.
  • GIS Product Development: Use independent judgment to develop and deliver GIS products, including maps, analysis, and reports, in response to a wide range of requests.
  • ArcGIS Online & Web Mapping Applications: Develop and maintain web mapping applications and other GIS products using ArcGIS Online and related platforms.
  • Customer Collaboration: Work with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements, assess needs, and provide feedback in multiple formats, ensuring GIS products meet customer expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in ArcPro: Strong working knowledge of ArcGIS Pro and GIS fundamentals, including spatial data entry, editing, and management.
  • GIS Principles & Techniques: Solid understanding of GIS concepts, including coordinate systems, projections, spatial analysis, and cartography.
  • Data Maintenance & Quality Control: Experience with data quality control, data cleaning, and attribute management.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Online: Preference for candidates with experience in developing web mapping applications and GIS products using ArcGIS Online.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to perform spatial analysis, identify trends, and communicate findings through maps and reports.
  • Problem-Solving & Initiative: Ability to work independently and make decisions to evaluate, create, and improve GIS products.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and detail when performing data entry and managing spatial information.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work with diverse teams and present GIS findings effectively.

Preferred Experience:

  • Web Mapping & GIS Applications: Experience developing and maintaining web-based GIS applications using ArcGIS Online.
  • Spatial Analysis & Cartography: Familiarity with creating map products, conducting geospatial analysis, and interpreting geographic data.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geospatial Science, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience working with GIS software, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and other geospatial tools.
