iSeries Engineer

Fusion HCR is hiring! This is a Direct Hire, onsite iSeries Engineer opportunity with a top-notch property in the gaming and hospitality space. The primary responsibility of the iSeries Engineer is to lead the development and support of RPG, RPGLE, CL, using Embedded SQL and DB2 design standards. The ideal candidate is able to work collaboratively to develop and implement business value projects and application integration. A commitment to teamwork, hustle, and strong communication skills are absolute requirements.

 


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Nevada Gaming Control Board Registration and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
  • 7 years of experience performing in all phases of the software development life cycle.
  • Working Knowledge of RPG, RPGLE, CL, using Embedded SQL and DB2 design standards.
  • Extensive use of Stored Procedures and Service Programs.
  • Working knowledge of using Turnover for change management, or similar.
  • Working knowledge of IBM iSeries system, libraries, and security.
  • Working knowledge of Windows Systems, Servers, Networking and Security.
  • Working knowledge of LMS/ACSC.
  • Ability to comprehend and implement detailed project specifications as well as the ability to adapt to various technologies and simultaneously work on multiple projects.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work in an independent manner.
  • Knowledge of Infinium, Kronos, Stratton Warren/MMS, ACOM, and Patrick Townsend applications preferred.
  • Knowledge of TIBCO and .NET development platforms a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities:
  • Performs complex systems root cause analysis of problems and incidents associated with applications and services
  • Implement technical solutions that provide for high availability of applications
  • Develop software solutions according to defined requirements.
  • Interact directly with other departments within IT as appropriate to ensure quality design, development, and implementation of technical solutions
  • Develop criteria for supporting developed solutions including user and technical documentation.
  • Adhere to SDLC, and Project Governance internal and regulatory (Sarbanes Oxley & Casino Regulatory Authority) guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
  • Maintain, modify and enhance software applications. Organize tasks, projects and/or provide direction on activities, tasks or systems in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Work on repair, maintenance or modification of software applications to help achieve the objectives of the business.
  • Possess skills to engineer, repair, enhance and modify software applications.
  • Render advice and provide expertise or judgment based on the software application being maintained, modified, developed, or reviewed.
  • Translate business requirements and functional specifications into logical program designs, code modules, stable application systems, and software solutions.
  • Develop and maintain integration applications, analyzing and troubleshooting processes.
  • Safety is an essential function of this job.
  • Consistent and regular attendance including on-call availability on a rotational basis is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
