Systems Engineer

Fusion HCR is hiring a Systems Engineer for a direct hire opportunity with a leader in the technology (IoT) space located in Phoenix, AZ. 

Role Summary:
As a System Engineer, you will be part of the IoT operational team, with focus on the RecovR product, our 2-in-1 solution for automotive dealers and consumers vehicle recovery. This role provides 2nd level of support, drives and participates in field tests and operates our IoT Cloud platform. The ideal candidate can analyze and solve difficult problems under pressure and must be able to operate fairly independently and autonomously. We are looking for a collaborative team player with a customer-driven outlook.

  • General
    • Represent the company on customer(s) premises
    • Participate actively in the System Engineering Team, i.e. day-to-day tasks, attend meetings and workshops, propose improvements, etc.
    • Maintain a “can-do” attitude and positive and constructive approach towards tasks at-hand
    • Attend and provide relevant training sessions to keep up-to-date skills and knowledge
    • Acquire an adequate level of expertise on matters related to work
  • Operations & Tests
    • Provide 2nd level of support to our 1st level call centers
    • Participate in product deployments at dealerships in the field
    • Organize, drive and participate to field tests
    • Operate and monitor the IoT cloud platform, including participation in 24/7 shifts when required
    • Consolidate and assess data coming from the field and tools; analyze, propose and trigger product, process & services improvements
    • Work and engage with customers, helping them operate their RecovR platform while consulting with other project team members (Program Manager, Product Manager, Senior System Engineer, Development teams …) as needed
    • Comply with processes and defined KPIs
    • Handle customer situations confidently, take into account customer outcomes and escalate when required
    • Take pride in work and solving customer issues efficiently and effectively

Preferred Skills / Experience Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s in Engineering / Computer Science or other technical degree
    • Fluent in English is a must, French or Spanish languages would be valuable
    • Customer-driven attitude and demonstrated interpersonal skills; face-to-face, over the phone and in written communications
    • DevOps mindset – ability to work in both operational & dev environments
    • Works effectively under pressure
    • Self-motivated and takes ownership
    • Hands-on worker with a strong inclination towards positive, efficient results
    • Team player that likes to learn and share knowledge
    • Autonomous - can work in international team, with manager and half of team members based outside US
    • Flexibility - ability to travel up to 40% of the time
    • Valid driver’s license
  • Technical
    • Knowledge & experience in Cloud technologies (Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform) and related services
    • Monitoring and alerting services (Grafana, Opsgenie)
    • Scripting capabilities (for automation of tasks, reports, data analysis, …)
    • Knowledge and/or experience in these areas a plus:
      • IoT
      • Cellular networks standards
      • AGILE & DevOps methodologies
      • Mobile Operating systems basic troubleshooting (iOS, Android)
      • Web and http protocol
